HeadCase by KB- Facebook

HOORAY for new orders!! Some of my friends & coworkers have convinced me to get business cards and set up an official facebook page (not just a measly group) and thanks to their enthusiasm I will spend the weekend making HeadCase accessories!

At first I thought it was cute because I was filling orders for people I know, but now I suddenly have strangers asking for clips and headbands and I'm a little shocked that these boogers are selling. Did that sound lame? Yes. I'm not supposed to admit that. Oh well.

Anyway, I just created the facebook page today and I'd love some new friends!! Find me at http://www.facebook.com/headcase.bykb and tell your friends!!

My fav model, Zoe

As always, most of the material I use comes from thrift stores, yard sales, and donated/unwanted scraps of fabric headed for the garbage. Thrifty AND green.... gotta love that!

An 80's Night with Rubix Kube at the Canal Room, NYC

**Warning: there are entirely too many pictures in this post**

My weekend was FANTASTIC. I had so much fun, I can't even contain it to one post. Luckily I was hanging out with a girl with mad photography skills, so the fact that my camera issues are never ending didn't get me down.

The train up to New York was smooth and comfortable and I arrived in plenty of time to head out on the town. Saturday was insane... we got an hour of sleep (tops) because of Friday night fun night at Banc Cafe and we headed to Grand Central entirely too early to get ourselves to Connecticut.

Post to follow all about the baby shower (which should be entertaining since I'm awkwardly clueless about such things). After the shower we headed back to NYC on a runaway train that was so violently bump that a piece of the ceiling came off and dumped dust and dirt all over the people in the next row. MaryAllen was convinced we were going to fly off the track at any moment, and the screaming baby beside me was just another reminder I am not ready for rugrats. We {narrowly} survived Metro North and immediately got to work becoming obnoxiously 80's.

I spent a whopping $2 on the ugliest skirt I've ever seen thanks to my neighborhood thrift store, and $3 on a pair of Forever21 lace gloves. I cut the first layer of the skirt off to reveal the hideous pink layer and I cut the fingers out of the gloves. Every other part of my outfit was something I already owned... and here's a side note: my hair wishes it was the 80s. Left up to its own devices, my hair would be a frizzy 80s mop with the texture of cotton candy. Anyway, I didn't really mean to dress us up as Madonna, but since I idolized her as a child, it sort of just happened.

The band we went to see was Rubix Kube at the Canal Room (they're there every Saturday night). If you are able to see this show, DO NOT MISS IT!! I'm telling you it was the best show I've seen in a very long time. The energy and costume changes and set list were incredible... totally blew me away. I can't wait to see them again!!

I can take credit for almost none of these pictures.... they are mostly courtesy of MaryAllen. If you haven't been to I'm Writing This Down, get over there!!
