I'm kicking my DP habit.
I went for YEARS without so much as a sip of soda. I typically eat healthy vegetarian
meals and I take nutrition very seriously. Dr. Pepper is my weakness.
So now it's time to completely ditch this horrible soda habit once and for all.
Sad to think it all started with an ice cold can of Dr. Pepper after a night out
(I'm convinced a bottle would not have had the same effect on me....
I mean, the can is sooooo much better).

Damn you! |
Water would have been the better choice, obviously, but at the
time the idea of a caffeine and sugar rush was suddenly so appealing that
before I knew itI was on my second can. Oh dear....

No way this skinny bitch drinks Dr. Pepper |

Really? |
For a period I was in denial, but my recycling bin doesn't lie. Oh God, did I really drink all those? I have a problem. Aside from potentially rotting out my teeth and leeching calcium from my bones, this stuff is costing me money and putting on the pounds.
It's liquid candy that is so completely addictive that for a while
I refused to see the irony in eating an organic meal while sipping on food coloring,
preservatives, and the dreaded high fructose corn syrup.

Clearly this is a problem. |
I went from chugging water throughout the day to being a DP addict. How sad.
Today, my friends, this comes to an end. I say farewell to my tasty friend Dr. Pepper
and I'm reassured that after the initial grouchiness I'll be back to normal and won't even
miss it. That's what happens when you cut out a nasty habit. At first it's rough, but
eventually you are disgusted by the very thing you once loved. You start to wonder how
on earth you behaved that way in the first place.
I don't want to drink another soda for as long as I live!
wish me luck...
