I have applied for H1B transfer and here is my situation.
H1B expiration date with ex employer was 06/10/2010 and I transferred the H1B to a new employer on 06/01/2010 and the approval came on 08/09/2010. However the approval notice says the validity date is from 08/02/2010 to 08/01/2011. It should have been 06/11/2010 because we filed this transfer before the expiration date.
We sent an inquiry but the officer was saying the application was submitted based on new employment and not continuation of previously approved employment without change with the same employer, so we will not change our decision.
What should I do? I think I was out of status from 06/11 to 08/01. Does anyone have any information?

Who would be better to handle a complex GC case Murthy or Rajiv's office.
Any experience? I am looking for somebody who is responsive and can handle difficult queries from USCIS, if need be. How much do they charge for complete EB case?

It depends on how many cases that will be pending approval on October after the surge of applications this July and August.
I think it wouldn't be current for some countries specifically India and China.

I am in real need of suggestions for attorneys in the area. I am in PA, and need a good attorney (since mine just dropped off the face of the earth). Don't really care where he/she is, but I want to go with someone that it's been suggested by other immigrants, rather than other attys.

I suppose it depends on how you plan on using your next camera body.
For me, I bought a second D100 body (I shoot weddings professionally) even though I could have bought a D70, a used D1X or even waited for the D2X or the fabled D200.
Why? Well, in my case, I wanted a backup camera that could be used as a second camera at the same time. Not having to think about the differences in controls and settings when switching from camera A to camera B made buying a second D100 an easy choice. Plus, I bought the second D100 used for $825. It was in mint condition although it had over 11,000 actuations on it. A new D100 right now is running around $1100 after rebate, so that's not bad either!
If you want to be able to swap cameras without a second learning curve, get another D100. If you want something totally different (but not quite) get a D70. Or, just wait and see if Nikon will come out with the replacement for the D100. But you could be waiting for a while! :)

Here is something we really should watch closely. US senate race in Massachusetts between Democrat Coakley and Republican Brown. They are fighting for the vacant seat of Hon. Late Senator Ted Kennedy. Now, people would think, why a race in mass. matter? It's a completely blue state, and had no republican senator in last 40 yrs, obviously a democrat would win. The election is on tuesday and the ground reality seems to suggest something else.
This seat is crucial for President and Democrats as it is the much coveted 60th seat in the senate to get a filabuster-proof majority which democrats have enjoyed so far. It is critical for healthcare reform as well as for immigration reform (if at all it comes).
The gap between both the candidates was narrow with democrat leading but today, for the first time, polls indicate that Brown has taken lead over Coakley. People in this blue state seem to increasingly support Brown, mainly frustrated because of healthcare policies. Mass residents already have a healthcare related tax to help run state's universal health care. On top of that, federal health overall would be adding more taxes on people and people fear that they will end paying both. Already, mass is a very high tax state. So, there is an increasing popularity to tax-related fiscal conservative campaign run by Brown.
This is surely gonna be a nail-biter; so let's wait and watch this one. Election is coming tuesday.

Folks make sure the A number is same in both applications, if they are different USCIS puts it aside and will not process, I found out today while getting my address verified with USCIS IO, they had entered my address wrongly.
WHile checking the IO said it was good that my wife's derivate app under me, and her self 485 App A numbers match. Otherwise, they put it in pending state forever.

I am on l2 since my husband is on L1. I work full time for a US employer with an EAD. Now, what would happen to my status if my husband quits his job? you have EAD, that EAD was entirely based on your L2 status. If L2 status is gone so EAD is invalid too....
